India may issue architectural glass usage regulations

It is reported that the Jaipur Urban Development Authority of India will submit to the government a draft on the use of glass regulations to ensure the safety of citizens in civilian and commercial buildings.

At a seminar organized by the Construction Industry Alliance and the Urban Development Bureau a few days ago, representatives from the Alliance proposed the use of architectural glass. If this proposal is passed into the existing building bill, accidents caused by large-scale construction glass will be significantly reduced. Representatives of the coalition stated that the type of glass and its location were the main causes of accidents. According to reports, many commercial buildings in Jaipur do not use the prescribed glass. For example, many buildings use tempered glass instead of laminated safety glass, which will cause serious injuries in the accident.

Disaster management experts also recognized the need for glass usage regulations to protect citizens' lives and property. In the case of a fire, sometimes incorrect glass installation can cause great difficulty in controlling the fire.
