Xinjiang's power transmission exceeds 3 billion kWh and will reach 30 million kW

As of November 13, the 750-kilovolt network connection project between Xinjiang and the Northwest Power Grid was put into operation for one year, and the accumulated power transmission volume exceeded 3 billion kWh, equivalent to supporting 1.03 million tons of coal in the eastern part of China.

Recently, the reporter learned from the Xinjiang Electric Power Company that, since the 750-kilovolt interconnection project between Xinjiang and the Northwest Power Grid was put into operation on November 3 last year, 273 million kilowatts of Xinjiang’s external power had been exported that year, from January 1 to November 13 this year. The power supply was 2.766 billion kWh, a cumulative total of 3.039 billion kWh.

After one year's operation of the project, all data are stable, which effectively eased the situation of power supply shortage in the eastern and central regions of China.

During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Xinjiang plans to build three UHV DC transmission projects, namely Hami-Zhengzhou ±800 kV, Hami-Chongqing ±800 kV, and Zhundong-Chengdu ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission projects.

At present, the Hami-Zhengzhou UHV DC transmission project has been approved and fully launched by the National Energy Administration. The Hami-Chongqing UHV project has been incorporated into the national grid plan, and the preliminary design plan for the Jungdong-Chengdu UHV DC transmission project (Xinjiang section) has been completed. Has been completed. At the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Xinjiang’s “Gate Outbound” capacity will reach 30 million kilowatts.
