Man-made fiber process

A chemical fiber obtained by chemical treatment and mechanical processing using natural polymers (such as cellulose, protein, etc.) as raw materials. Man-made fibers generally have similar properties to natural fibers, have good hygroscopicity, gas permeability and dyeing properties, and are soft and lustrous. They are an important textile material. It can be purely spun or blended with natural fibers such as wool and silk, and synthetic fibers to make various kinds of clothing.

The strong yarn in the viscose fiber has high strength and resistance to multiple deformation, and can be used in industry. Recycled protein fibers have wool-like properties and can replace wool. Currently, proteins can be graft copolymerized or blended with other fibers to improve the properties of other fibers. In 1984, the output of man-made fiber was about 3.1 Mt, accounting for 21.3% of the total output of chemical fiber.
