EU Takes Special Measures on Imported Plastic Kitchenware

The European Commission recently passed Regulation (EU) No284/2011, requiring all EU member states to take special measures for the import of polyamide and melamine plastic kitchen utensils produced or shipped from mainland China and Hong Kong.

It is reported that the regulations stipulate that importers of polyamide and melamine plastic kitchen utensils produced or shipped from mainland China and Hong Kong must provide a declaration that the products of primary aromatic amines and formaldehyde comply with the EU's limited requirements, and attach relevant inspections. Reports; Member States have decided to appoint certain first ports of entry for goods produced or shipped from mainland China and Hong Kong, and publish a list of ports of entry on the Internet; the competent authorities of member states will sample imported goods by 10% Testing.

The regulation came into effect on the 11th of last month and was implemented on July 1. The Huzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded the relevant export cooking utensils production enterprises within the jurisdiction that they should pay attention to the specific provisions of the EU regulations and relevant dynamic information and take early measures to avoid unnecessary losses.
