Everyone knows that dust covers the module, forming a shielding phenomenon, which directly leads to a decrease in the power output of the module, and the long-term adhesion of dust has a certain corrosive effect on the module. At the same time, the presence of dust all the time will cause hot spots of the components, further reducing the output power of the components, and even affecting the life of the components.
And the hot spot effect is irreversible for the components. Once there is no remedy, you can only choose to replace the components. Otherwise, it will affect the amount of power generation, and may also bring hidden safety hazards to the power station.
Several domestic and foreign investigation agencies conducted research on the power attenuation of photovoltaic systems affected by dust, and obtained the data as shown in Figure 1.
It can be seen from the above figure that the output power of China's photovoltaic system is affected by dust on average about 20%.
So how much does dust accumulation affect the photovoltaic module's power generation performance?
We chose a rooftop photovoltaic power station in a school in Shanghai as a comparative test. The two roofs in comparison are identical, with an installed capacity of 71.6KW, components and other equipment and materials are the same brand, power station design angle, array, cable path, grid connection, etc. Almost the same, the difference between the two rooftop power stations in 2017 is only 0.45%. Starting from December 31, 2017, building A will start component cleaning every two months. The results are shown in Figure 2.
Comparison of power generation
The comparison of power generation data in the above figure shows that the photovoltaic power plants throughout the year are carried out in accordance with the cleaning period of 2 months, and the average increase in power generation is about 5.5%.
I believe that everyone will re-examine the problem of dust accumulation after knowing the impact of dust on the photovoltaic power plant. Here, the editor recommends that you can generally clean it in the period of January to March. If there are sandstorms, smog and other weather, you can shorten the cleaning cycle appropriately . The photovoltaic power station can be inspected regularly on a regular basis, and the household can conduct regular inspections every week to deal with the polluted components in time.
