China completed the world's first self-elevating natural gas compression platform design

China and Mexico have recently announced in Shanghai that the world's first self-elevating natural gas compression platform manufactured by Chinese companies will be shipped to the Gulf of Mexico.

According to reports, the self-elevating natural gas compression platform has a total investment of 230 million US dollars and more than 200 million cubic feet of compressed natural gas per year. It integrates a series of cutting-edge technologies and equipment in the world of marine engineering to help the Canta in the Gulf of Mexico. The exploitation and recovery of natural gas in the Rael oil field mitigates environmental impacts.

Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is responsible for the independent design and general contract construction of the world's first self-elevating natural gas compression platform, which was completed in two years. Liu Yanjia, vice president of the company, told Xinhua News Agency that such high-end offshore platforms have gone abroad, indicating that the capabilities of Chinese offshore engineering companies have been accepted by mainstream customers around the world.

According to the plan, the world's first self-elevating natural gas compression platform will be shipped to Mexico from Shandong Longkou in early September and is expected to be put into use before the end of the year. Its designed service life is 25 years, and it can be extended to 35 years after being upgraded. It is expected to win great returns for many operating companies such as Mexico's Tellus.

According to Mexico's Tellus, the world's first self-elevating natural gas compression platform to be settled in the Gulf of Mexico has been named "August 12" because this date is both the anniversary of the first anniversary of the Mexican Energy Reform Act and the freedom of North America. The anniversary of the signing of the trade agreement is related to "the significance of Mexico's welcome to more foreign companies including China to participate in the development of oil and gas resources."

It is understood that as a company focusing on the design, construction and service of high-end marine engineering equipment, CIMC Raffles has delivered 9 deep-water semi-submersible platforms and 10 self-elevating platforms to customers at home and abroad in recent years. Brazil, West Africa, the Caspian Sea, and China's Bohai and South China Sea operations. Currently, the company has six deep-water semi-submersible platforms and seven jack-up platforms under construction.
